Mind Over Matter Media

Mind Over Matter Media was founded in 2014 on a philosophy that began long before the first camera rolled.

During a difficult chapter of my childhood, my mother would look at me and say, “Son, mind over matter — if you don’t mind, your worries won’t matter.” What began as comfort became conviction. In the hardest seasons of my life, that mindset carried me forward. When it came time to name the company, the initials — MOMM — felt like more than a coincidence. They felt like a sign. A quiet tribute. A foundation.

Mind Over Matter is not just a name — it’s a way of seeing the world.

Roots

Raised in New Mexico, I grew up between desert streets and mountain peaks. Skateboarding shaped my creativity and resilience — teaching me how to fall, adapt, and try again. Wildlife photography sparked a lifelong connection to the natural world, pulling me into quiet moments at dawn where patience and presence mattered more than anything else.

In the mountains, bow hunting elk while honoring the traditions of my Native ancestors instilled discipline, reverence for the land, and a deep respect for heritage. Those early experiences continue to shape how I approach storytelling — grounded, intentional, and rooted in authenticity.

The Work

Since its founding, Mind Over Matter Media has partnered with world-class brands including Rolex, Under Armour, Qualcomm, Discover LA, Petco, Nature’s Recipe, Lexus, Guinness World Records, and Taylor Guitars, crafting cinematic, story-driven content that blends artistry with purpose.

In 2017, I stepped into the role of Director, Wildlife Filmmaker, and Commercial Producer for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, where conservation and storytelling meet on a global stage. Whether documenting endangered species, producing commercial campaigns, or directing branded films, the mission remains the same: tell stories that move people.
